Ethnic Inspirations is a family owned and operated studio based in Arkansas. Founded in 2010 in Arizona, Linda merged her lifelong love of travel and appreciation of other cultures into a company that has seen great local success in galleries across Southern Arizona. We decided to open our online presence and virtual storefront in 2014 with Linda's daughter, Heather, who is based in Virginia. In 2018, Linda and Vince moved to Arkansas, taking a brief hiatus. Linda has resumed making her dolls in 2022 and is excited to be sharing them in local galleries in Hot Springs.
In 1985, as part of her fine arts training, Linda traveled to Bali for a course on their cultural traditions including dance and mask carving. The entryway to her home is still filled with the collection she purchased from artisans on that trip. Many of the masks used in our art dolls come from Balinese carvers, known internationally for their skill. If you have any questions about the origins of any materials, we would be happy to answer them for you.
Each art doll starts with a wooden base, and each design is inspired by a mask or originally made face. They are handcrafted using a variety materials such as jewelry, feathers, yarn, and a wide variety of fabrics. For more information, please visit our Facebook page.
